Q.  How do I become a member of the Anacortes Yacht Club?

A. To become a member, you need to be sponsored by two active members of the AYC, print and fill out the Application Form and Member Biography Form,  and submit it along with a check for your initiation fees and club dues to the address on the bottom of the application.  Our board welcomes new members each month, as we vote in new members at our board meetings. For cost and other details please open the PDF member application.

Q.  Do I need to own a boat?

A. Boat ownership is not required to become a member. All that is needed is an active interest in boating. We offer three levels of membership: Preferred (boat owner), Associate (non-boat owner) and Junior (15-20 years old). 

Q.  I’m new to the area, how can I become sponsored by members?

A. If you are active in boating, you most likely know someone who is an AYC member already, so feel free to ask around. If you are new to the area or don't know any club members, contact our Membership Chair who will invite you to come see our clubhouse and meet our members or call 360-293-5277 and leave a message. The clubhouse is open each Friday from 5:30-8:30 for social hours and other events.

Q.  How much are dues and initiation?

Q.  Is my annual membership fee and initiation fee all due at once? 

A. Yes. .  Payment is due in full upon Board approval of your application. Initial year dues are prorated to December 31st based upon your join date.

Q.  Are there other membership requirements?

A. We encourage our new members to attend an orientation soon after acceptance to become familiar with our club and activities. We expect all members to volunteer in some capacity. We have members with varied interests, including social, cruising, racing and education. We think you’ll find that we are a diverse and welcoming club.
