AYC RACING

2026 will be a great year of racing! Our season opener is the Girts Rekevics Foul Weather Race, February 21st, and racing continues through the year until November.

WED NIGHT RACING SERIES  

Racers and interested crews are encouraged to come to our Skippers Meeting, Wednesday March 25th at the AYC Clubhouse 5:30 - 8pm.  We will pass out Race Packets, and answer any questions you may have about our racing program.  Burgers on the BBQ and Beer on the taps! We will kick off this Season right! 

Our popular Wednesday night buoy racing begins on April 2nd at 6pm and continues through September 17th. We welcome sailors of all experience levels. After racing, come join us for burgers and some mid-week fun at AYC!

DISTANCE RACE SERIES  
AYC also features ten distance races grouped into three historic series! Each series will focus on challenges sailing in the different areas around the San Juan Islands. For those who prefer longer tacks and the strategy of navigating our beautiful islands. Come out and join us on these Saturdays!

REGIONAL RACES   
AYC hosts two big regional races which are open to competitors throughout the Puget Sound and Canadian waters.  Test your metal against the region’s best sailors! 

The Girts Rekevics Foul Weather Race, February 21st, is our season opener. We start at 9:30am on Saturday morning. We finish at Friday Harbor and meet with racers and cruisers at San Juan Island Yacht Club for a celebration with trophy awards and a big lasagna dinner.

Northern Century & Northern 50, happening Labor Day Weekend Sept 4-7 
AYC’s flagship race billed as the “toughest race you’ll ever love!” Friday night is the racers reception, then Saturday high Noon start! Sail 100 miles around the San Juan Islands.  The Northern 50 (aka the Fifty Cent) is a 50-mile challenge event.  Both offer warm summer sailing under a canopy of stars. An experience you will never forget.

Register for all AYC Club races with a single purchase of the AYC Race Packet. To be scored, you’ll need to purchase one.

AYC member price is $125.00.
Non-Member price is $185.00.

Race Packets will soon be available for purchase on this website.

We have a lot of fun planned this year!  By November we will have a lot to celebrate. Go out there and enjoy your boat!
