Race Week is the premier racing event in this region with typically 65+ boats with their crews spending an entire week in Anacortes conducting multiple races per day. Unfortunately, its continued presence in Anacortes is up for re-consideration, due to a few issues.
That said, the Anacortes Yacht Club Board and others in the local boating community are in active discussions to see where support for keeping this premier racing event can be found. A letter of support is in the works along with discussions that individuals have been having with the Race Organizer (an AYC member), local business leaders, the Chamber, Port and City to see what can be done. One aspect that would help financial help for some of the early upfront costs.
To this, have organized a survey to gather pledges from local businesses and individuals for a grass roots effort to keep Race Week in Anacortes. If you would like to pledge any amount to this cause, please fill out the following survey with your name/business, contact information, and amount. This is a pledge to contribute only if Race Week remains in Anacortes in 2025. If it stays, you will be contacted in December regarding your pledge.
