A new cruise event in 2024, AYC has arranged for dock space at False Creek Harbour Marina.  The marina is steps away from Granville Island, and has easy access to local restaurants and cafes, entertainment, parks, and the water taxi to downtown Vancouver.

Please join us from June 28 to July 1 in Vancouver BC.  We have been to the marina, which is also referred to as Fisherman’s Wharf, and we are happy to report the location and the facilities are top notch.  The docks are well-maintained and on shore the wharf offers clean restrooms, showers and laundry facilities.  Please know that the docks are open (like Cap Sante Marina with no security gates) and are frequently patrolled by a security team. 

One other cruising benefit of staying at fisherman’s wharf is that it is a check-in site for BC Customs (at the outer end of the fish sales dock - see marina map below).

Registration Process:  Please register using the "Register Now" link.  The first 16 boats to register will be included on the list sent to the harbor master and registration will be confirmed.  We will keep a waiting list in case the harbor master is able to accommodate additional AYC boats or in case of cancellation(s).  Moorage payment will be collected by the harbor master upon arrival.  The cruise fee of $25 per boat will be collected at registration.  This is a non-refundable fee because it will be used to secure our reservation and happy hour snacks at Tap and Barrel.

Arrival and Specific Dock Assignment:  When you arrive on June 28 (after clearing customs), please check in with the harbor master for your assigned dock (AYC will be on D and E docks - see marina map below).  Rafting is required.  AYC cruisers will either be next to the dock, or rafted next to an AYC boat on the dock.  AYC cruisers will be paired up based on arrival time and LOA.  All boats will have access to power and water. If you want to pair up with a specific fellow AYC boater whose boat is the same size, let us know in the comments section of the registration form and we will try to accommodate the pairing.

Preliminary Activity Schedule:

Friday June 28th - After checking in, please join us for happy hour at Tap and Barrel on Granville Island.  You can see the pub from the docks.  Just follow along the sea wall (a 10 minute walk) to get to Tap and Barrel.  Happy hour will start at 4pm.  After a beverage or two you can either hang out at Tap and Barrel for dinner or explore more of Granville Island. 

Saturday June 29th - we will walk over to Vanier Park to enjoy dinner and an outdoor play at Bard on the Beach.  Please purchase your tickets directly from their website.  Tickets aren't available yet but we will keep an eye on their website and alert registered cruisers when they are available. 

Sunday June 30th - morning swim or other workout at the Vancouver Aquatic Center.  The aquatic center has a very nice 50-meter indoor pool as well as a fitness and weight room.  After the swim/workout we will walk about four blocks along Burrard and stop for pastries and coffee at Breka.  Or, people can continue to walk towards town to get a full breakfast.

Monday July 1st - morning walk over to Granville Island to get doughnuts, coffee and other treats.  Departure from the docks at 11am.  Note that July 1st is Canada Day, so some cruisers may want to stay an additional night to enjoy holiday activities.  If you would like to request an extended moorage reservation to include Monday night let us know in the comments section of the registration form.
